The Zomerhuisje (Summer Cottage) dates from 1822 and has a rich history. It started off as a farm workers’ cottage and was used for making cheese, for baking bread and for boiling water in the copper wood-burning stove which was used for many different purposes.
This cottage was recently completely refurbished. Many original features were kept, such as the tiled fireplace in the kitchen, the large beams in the bedrooms and the attractive thatched roof. Modern conveniences were not forgotten either. The modern kitchen includes a combi microwave oven and a dishwasher, the luxury shower room/toilet are at ground-floor level, in the lounge you can easily relax in front of the flatscreen television and DVD player, and thanks to wireless internet you can e-mail and surf the net free of charge.
Unless, of course, you prefer to look out the window or sit outside on the patio, and enjoy the beautiful view of the Witte Bruggetje (WhiteBridge) and the Wijde Aa lake…
The spiral staircase takes you up to the two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds. On request we can add a fifth guest bed.
In the Zomerhuisje – which gently blends the old and the new – you will have a great holiday in a real farmer’s cottage, where you can rest and recharge as much as you need!
